He’s currently the Executive Chairman of “Jonah Capital”, a private equity fund based in South Africa.

Mr Jonah served on the AngloGold Ashanti Limited board. From 1986 until 2004, as the Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, he led the transformation of Ashanti from a one-mine operation into a multinational gold miner. He became Executive President of AngloGold Ashanti Limited May 2004, when Ashanti was acquired by AngloGold Limited.

He has served on the International Investment Advisory Councils of Presidents  Thabo Mbeki(South Africa),  John Kufuor (Ghana) and OlusegunbObasanjo (Nigeria). He is a member of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Global Compact Advisory Council. He was formerly on the Advisory Council of the President of the African Development Bank and was also a member of the Advisory Council of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

He has been decorated with several awards and honours, including an honorary knighthood by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He played a key role in the team that discovered the 6 million ounce Namdini Gold Project on the Bole-Nangodi Mineralisation Belt in the northern part of Ghana.

Until his appointment to the government regulatory agency, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, the main mouthpiece and advocacy body of Ghana’s mining industry. He had previously held various senior executive positions at Tullow Oil Ghana Limited, the main commercial oil producer in Ghana, and the South Africa-headquartered Gold Fields (Ghana limited), the leading gold producing company in Ghana, and Ranger Minerals’ Abosso Goldfields Lilmited.

He is currently the Founder and Lead Partner of the Africa Institute of Extractives Industry Policy Research and Training (AIEI). Internationally, Toni Aubynn has been part of a number of initiatives. He is a member of the IFC Advisory Group on Local Content and UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Expert on Small-Scale Mining in West Africa. He has once chaired the Associations and Communities Group (ACG) and the Working Group on Small-Scale Mining, of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM). He was a long time member of the Strategic Management Advisory Group of Communities and Artisanal Small-Scale Mining (CASM). At the Minerals Commission, Dr. Aubynn is credited with the completion of Ghana’s Mining and Minerals Policy document and also initiated the Ghana Mining Vision as well as the digitization of the country’s minerals cadaster system. He established the first ‘Gender Desk’ at the Minerals Commission.

He has been member of a number of Board of various institutions including, the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Railway Development Authority, Global Compact Ghana (chair), Amenfiman Rural Bank (Chair) and InvestCorps Limited. Toni holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana and various post-graduate degrees from the Universities of Oslo and Tampere a PhD fellowship of the United Nations University, Institute of Development Studies, University of Helsinki and Tokyo University. He has written over forty, published and unpublished academic papers and contributed chapters to five books. Until recently, Mark was the Vice President of Endeavour Mining Corporation, a mid-tier West Africa focus Gold Mining entity where he was responsible for Business Sustainability that involved managing in-country business risk including the management of HSE, Business Development, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations.

Prior to his management of Adamus and Endeavour Resources, Mark was the Senior Regional Finance/Capital Manager for Newmont’s Ghana Gold Operations. Mark was a key member of the Newmont’s Ahafo Mine start-up as well as pre-development of the $1 billion Newmont Ghana Akyem Gold project.  Mark provided significant business planning and development support with the provision of economic valuations, financial analysis and strategic planning for Regional Executives and Newmont’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Addo has also served in several senior executive roles prior to joining the mining industry. Between 2000 and 2004, Mark served as Senior Finance Manager at ATT Solutions in United States where he was a point-man in developing deal pricing and valuation strategies to sales and technical teams that developed global IT solutions to fortune 500 companies. Additionally, Mark also worked for Delphi Automotive Systems and General Motors in the US, where he held several leadership roles that was highlighted by his role as a mergers and acquisition manager at Delphi where he was instrumental in setting up a heat exchange and air-conditioning manufacturing unit in South-East Asia (Thailand) to support General Motors Isuzu Truck manufacturing in1998/9.[/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=””][tm-heading h2=” Idris Egala” h2_font_container=”color:%234c4c4c” h4_font_container=”color:%234c4c4c” use_custom_fonts_h2=”true” use_custom_fonts_h4=”true” h4=”Non-Executive Director”][vc_column_text]Idris Egala is the Senior Partner of Egala & Associates (EAA) with over 37 extensive years of experience in Financial Management, Audit and Assurance, Business Advisory Services and Tax Consultancy.
